Yacht StarShip Dining Cruises & Events operates Florida’s largest and premier fleet of dining and wedding yachts out of Tampa Channelside and Clearwater Marina. Our dining cruises consist of lunch and dinner cruises, private events, corporate functions, social gatherings, beautiful weddings, and much more. Yacht StarShip also owns and operates Pirate Water Taxi with a fleet of 6 water taxis offering hop-on-hop-off service at 17 stops along the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa as well as Lost Pearl Pirate Adventures out of Tampa.

Executive Chef Role and Description

Yacht StarShip prides itself on the ability to serve our made-to-order cuisine to our dining passengers with high quality and within a timely manner. Our dinner cruises are 2-3 hour experiences with a goal of finishing meal service within 1 hour. The unique challenge is that all guests are seated within 30 minutes of each other or all at once.

The perfect Executive Chef for this position will be able to create an inspiring and high-quality menu (changing seasonally) while working within a budget. The chef will work alongside and lead the culinary team to able to produce consistent high-quality meals in a time-sensitive manner. They should feel comfortable speaking with high-end social and corporate clientele when doing tastings and menu consults.

The Executive Chef is responsible for scheduling, menu planning, costing out menus, ordering, food preparation, sanitation, safety, inventory, and oversight of the galley including cooks and dishwashers aboard our fine dining yachts.

The stadium/Convention Center experience is a plus

Position reports to Corporate Executive Chef

The position supervises: All galley members

Key Relations Company-Wide: CEO, VP of Administration, Vessel Captains, FOH Managers, Sales Managers and Reservations personnel.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience as an executive chef.
  • Culinary Degree (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Culinary skill in a wide range of New World Cuisine; fresh and local ingredients.
  • Administrative and computer skills including scheduling, ordering and reporting.
  • Must have a food safe card (ServSafe or equivalent)
  • Must be able to navigate and prepare several different menus at one time.
